Recruiting and Education Officer
Major Jeffrey Mellgren is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and the Recruiting and Education Officer for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Course (AFROTC) Detachment 415 located at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. He is responsible for recruiting, educating, mentoring, and inspiring over 70 prospective officers to become the highest quality leaders in the United States Air and Space Forces.
Major Mellgren commissioned from the Reserve Officer Training Corps at North Dakota State University in 2012 with a Masters in Architecture. He has served in a variety of roles within the Civil Engineer career field from Flight Command to Director of Operations. He has deployed in multiple leadership positions, serving on NATO staff as well as executing contingency beddowns and managing a theatre wide construction program. Most recently he was assigned to the Air Force Civil Engineer Center as the Deputy Branch Chief, Program Investment Branch, overseeing a $1B enterprise wide centralized construction program.
