Why Detachment 415?
Air Force ROTC at the University of Minnesota develops officers — not just students with military experience. Our program integrates academics, physical training, and leadership development into a four-year track that ends with a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force or Space Force.
In 2026, our cadets earned commissions at a rate of 86.7% — ranking us #5 in our region and #24 nationally out of 145 programs. Zero cadets who completed the program were denied a commission at the national board.
